Ami and Laura on our back deck |
Suzanne and Laura on the river walk in front of our house.
I went to work today and Suzanne, Ami and Rachel(not pictured) hung out with my my. I’m taking Monday’s and Fridays off in August and plan to continue to do so for the foreseeable future but I can’t really say that since I have not talked to HR nor my boss yet.... I have friends coming every day but one so far filled with friends coming to be with Laura while I’m at work in Aug.
When I got home from work today, I walked the dogs and the wife on the river walk. She was cognizant of her situation in hospice and dying which she often isn’t. She kept saying she was sorry for messing up the kids and my life. Then we napped together for a bit. It was sad but very sweet. Each day is different so far. Today she wanted to hold hands and cuddle. Yesterday she was made at me for moving our room down stairs. One step at a time. Peace my friends.
I really appreciate this blog. Thanks Jon!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. I wish so many things. I wish I were there and awake at 6 am making coffee and admiring the views and the feeling of your lives created in such a picturesque location. I wish I were poking through your fridge, without shame, as I gather food to prepare for breakfast later when Snydley and Marte finally wake up. I wish for more chances to sing Tom Petty & Stevie Nicks in harmony with Snydley. I wish to listen to her talk about all the really important stuff in life with absolute and genuine passion while I ponder whether Beavis & Butthead is available on Netflix. I wish for peace for all as life's toughest transition is menacingly approaching my friend Snydley and I wish it weren't.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your and Laura's experiences Jon. So special. There are many of us sending you our love and support!!!
